Background of Technological Development

The vacuum low-temperature automatic continuous dryer truly had industrial application value in the 1970s. The first product produced using the vacuum low-temperature automatic continuous dryer was maltose, produced by Scott and Balfour in the UK. In the mid-1950s, the first Swiss vacuum belt dryer unit was developed in collaboration with Wander and Sulzer.

Sulzer sold this vacuum low-temperature automatic continuous dryer to Zschukke in Dottingen, Switzerland in the 1960s. The conveyor belt of the original vacuum low-temperature automatic continuous dryer was composed of metal belts. Until 1990, the company had been engaged in research on vacuum low-temperature automatic continuous dryers, and was taken over by Bucher in 1990. In 1994, the German E&E Merk company was established and began mass production of different specifications. In 2007, Gemini Corporation collaborated with major universities and received advanced technical support from Germany. The company has a strong technical team, and the drying division of Gemini Corporation has provided multiple operating equipment for experimental bases of major universities, national technology research and development platforms, as well as multiple pharmaceutical, biochemical, and food deep processing factories in China.

Device Description

The vacuum low-temperature automatic continuous drying machine is a high vacuum degree drying equipment with continuous feeding and discharging forms. The material liquid to be dried is sent into the highly vacuum drying machine through a variable frequency screw pump. The material is continuously transported to the multi-layer drying belt in the slowly moving drying machine. The drying belt moves forward at a set speed under the drive of a speed regulating motor. There are three or more independent heating sources and a cooling source below each drying belt. When the material moves from one end of the cylinder to the other, it has been dried and cooled. The dried material is separated from the drying belt and crushed by a crushing device before being discharged into the material bucket through a vacuum butterfly valve.

The dry material is directly introduced into a high vacuum container and slowly dried for a period of time (drying time: 30-60 minutes). The particles obtained after drying have a certain degree of crystallization effect, and there are micro pores inside according to the microstructure. After being directly crushed to the desired particle size, the flowability of the particles is very good, and they can be directly compressed or encapsulated. At the same time, the dry particles have a micro porous structure and excellent solubility. Moreover, the appearance of the particles is good, which can enhance the grade of instant (granule) products.

The vacuum automatic track dryer has a wide range of applications and can be used for the majority of natural plant extracts. Especially for the materials with high viscosity, easy agglomeration, thermoplasticity and heat sensitivity, which are not suitable or can not be dried by spray, the vacuum automatic crawler dryer is the ideal choice. Moreover, the concentrated extract can be directly sent to a vacuum automatic track dryer for drying without adding any auxiliary materials, which can reduce the dosage of the final product and improve its quality. Because drying under high vacuum conditions and at lower drying temperatures is beneficial for maintaining the original color of the extract. The vacuum automatic track dryer is equipped with continuous feeding at one end of the machine body and continuous discharging at the other end. The batching and discharging parts can be set in a clean room, and the entire drying process is completely enclosed without contact with the external environment, which meets GMP requirements and is an ideal choice for the modernization and upgrading of traditional Chinese medicine production.

This unit is a continuous automated drying equipment, particularly suitable for drying materials that are heat sensitive and not resistant to mechanical pressure. Therefore, it can be widely used for drying natural plant extracts, food deep processing, and pharmaceutical products.
